NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS BEFORE USING YOUR BICYCLE
A – PEDALS
Screw in the pedal marked “D” or “R” in the right-hand crank arm by hands and fasten with the wrench. Do the same with the pedal marked “G”, “S” or “L” and left-hand crank arm.
It is recommended to check if pedals are still fixed tightly to their rotation axles after approx. 50 km distance run.
In order to avoid damaging the screw threads in pedal crank arms, it is necessary to screw in pedals by hand four (4) or five (5) turns and then tighten firmly using the wrench. Breach of this condition will result in void warranty.
B – HANDLEBAR
Release the extender of handlebar stem by hitting its head with metal object. Align handlebar height and recentre it.
Block extender in correct position and fasten it. The handlebar stem should not be fixed after the position with “Stop” mark.
C – SEAT ADJUSTMENT
Insert the seatpost into the frame of the bike.
Mount the seat on the frame and fasten with the wrench. Release the bolt on the frame, which holds seatpost. Adjust the seatpost to proper height, not further than “Stop” mark and fasten the bolt so the seatpost is firmly fixed.
D – SHIFTER ADJUSTMENT
If chain has trouble to go on the largest chainring (gear shifter in the highest position), fasten a bit screw with “B” mark making sure that derailleur is not located beyond the level of the largest chainring and could not move further. If chain has tendency to move behind the largest chainring, it is necessary to adjust the opposite direction.
If chain has trouble to go on the smallest chainring, release slightly the upper screw “A” to adjust the derailleur same level as the smallest chainring. If chain has tendency to move behind the smallest chainring, it is necessary to adjust the opposite direction.
E – DERAILLEUR ADJUSTMENT
First make sure that the cable is enough tensioned. Check that the guide plate is parallel with the chainring. If it is not, then check settings of M1 mechanism on the tube and firmly tighten the screws, when mechanism is in the right position. If necessary, make adjustment with screws:
- Slightly tighten the screw marked „L”, if the chain has tendency to shift away from the smallest chainring.
- Slightly tighten the screw marked „K”, if the chain has tendency to shift away from the biggest chainring.
Important: To avoid unfavourable run of the chain, never use combination such as: „smallest front chainring– smallest sprocket”, „largest front chainring – biggest sprocket”.
F – CENTRING TIRES
It is possible that during the transportation or storing bike tires loose the alignment. In this case it is recommended to visit a bike workshop as alignment is not an easy task for those who does not have the necessary skills.
G – BRAKES
In our bikes we usually use two types of brakes:
- V-brakes (rims are used for braking),
- Disc brakes (brake discs are used for braking).
To adjust v-brakes, it is necessary to keep approximately 2mm distance between brake pads and rim.
Brake pads have to touch rims simultaneously without touching the wheel.
Finish by adjusting screws located on the brake levers.
To set up the disc brakes, it is necessary to adjust two screws located on the support, considering that the disc brake is always positioned in the centre of the support.
Never ride a bike with only one functioning brake as the braking will not be safe enough.
Folding bike – folding instructions
- Release the light metal alloy lever by turning it to the side, then unfold the handlebar stem so it touches the front wheel.
- Loosen the seatpost fixing and move it downwards until it stops.
- Push the pedal towards the chainwheel and place it vertically.
- Release the central fixing of the frame and move it outwards lifting it up and releasing the lever, then unfold the bike frame.
Folding pedals
Push the pedal inwards and fold down.
Folding handlebar
Release the handlebar stem lever and move it downwards to the front wheel.
How to lift and adjust the handlebar
- Lift the handlebar and place it vertically.
- Lift the fixing lever until reaching the vertical position.
- Check if handlebar is fixed well and does not move.
- If handlebar moves after fixing, please adjust it with the screw and fix the lever.
- Finish adjustment by fastening the blocking screw.
- Turn the black plastic safety staple anticlockwise in order to avoid that the lever gets loose.
ATTENTION!
Do not ride the bike if blocking systems are loose (frame and handlebar).
Do not ride the bike if pedals are folded.
MAINTENANCE
In order for your bike to serve better, we suggest to check these parts regularly.
- Wheels: please check that all screws are tightened well.
- Seatpost: please check that the seatpost stem does not move further than the mark “Stop”.
- Pedals: should be firmly mounted to their axles.
- Chain: check the chain for the wear.
- Rear and front derailleur: check all the screws and adjust accordingly.
- Check the brake pads for the wear.
- Please check the tension of the brake cables.
Maintenance should be done by qualified technician.
Do not use bike if having troubles with smooth bike functioning.
MTB: we do not suggest to use this kind of bike for off-road competition or in very bad road conditions.
PRINCIPLES AND RULES OF A SAFE RIDE
Seat height: Position yourself on your bike without shoes, place your heel on the pedal, straighten your leg. The maximum height of the seat is marked on the seatpost.
Chainring: 80-120 pedal rotations per minute.
Air pressure in the tires: Maximum allowed tire pressure is marked on the sides of tires and depends also on the road type.
Gear-shifting mechanism: Wrong shift, sand, water and mud in gear-shifting mechanism and chain result in early wear and tear.
Please shift gears carefully! Do not try to shift the gears without chain rotation. Shift the gears one at a time. Do not shift multiple gears at the same time. Correct gear shifting prepares your bike for a longer use. Wrongly shifting gears might damage the shifter which will not be covered under the warranty!
Hand brake: Please brake simultaneously with front and back brake and do not block the front tire.
Before every ride: Check the pressure in tires – do not ever ride with flat tires. Please check the hub cones, shifter and precise brake functioning, if needed adjust them. Check quick release skewers, frame and fork connections. Open quick release skewers might result in an unexpected fall.
After riding in the rain: take good care of your friend – bike, do not let humidity and mud decrease its life. Grease gear parts with oil – use oils with Teflon. Do not ride the bike in the sea – sea salt accelerates rust of iron and steel.
